Subject: Hurricane Ike

Due to the continued tracking of Hurricane Ike in a direction that could potentially make this area vulnerable to the effects of the storm, Mayor White and Judge Emmitt have asked employers to require only essential employees to go to work on Friday. In keeping with that request and to allow your Crescent team adequate time to prepare the property for wind effects that may be experienced as early as tomorrow morning, we strongly suggest that you follow that recommendation. Effective at 5:00 pm today, Thursday, September 11, 2008, Crescent properties will be placed in a weekend access mode. Essential employees will be allowed access by card key only through the day Friday. At 5:00 pm Friday this will be changed to a mandatory closure of the property and no personnel other than essential property management, engineering and security will be allowed to remain on the remises.

Those items include:

• Move all files to interior offices.
• Remove any loose items from perimeter offices facing the glass.
• Leave blinds all the way up, as loose blinds may cause further damage if windows are lost.
• Back up files on computers
• Remove computers and electronic equipment from perimeter offices.
• Unplug any unnecessary electrical devices especially outlets along the glass curtain wall.
• Close exterior doors prior to leaving the office Thursday evening.
• Do not leave any automobiles on lower levels of below grade garages.

Additionally re-opening information will be shared with local media sources for broadcast when appropriate.
